About the College
The National College of Defence Studies is a premier institution for strategic and security studies, preparing senior military officers and civilian leaders for the highest levels of national and international responsibility. Our one-year Master of Strategic Studies blends rigorous academic inquiry with applied strategic practice across four intensive terms, culminating in an individual capstone research project.
Admission Process

Institutional Nomination
Sponsoring institutions — the Armed Forces, security and intelligence services, MDAs and partner nations — nominate eligible senior officers and civilian executives.

Submission of Credentials
Nominees submit their nomination letter, service record, academic qualifications and required documents to the College.

Selection & Vetting
The College reviews each nominee against the entry criteria and completes the necessary vetting before confirming selection.
4
Clearance & Induction
Confirmed participants complete sponsorship clearance, then are inducted and begin their studies on the learning platform.
